Happy Holidays Garland

Hello everybody,

on Saturday Silke's and mine annual Christmas tea party took place at my apartment and as always it was lovely. We served scones, cake and chilli, tea and hot punch and of course we also decorated the apartment. Apart from other things (like a Christmas tree for example ;) ) I made a lovely and easy-to-make "Happy Holidays"-garland, for which I used simple green colour paper and an old newspaper. If you don't have a Christmas decoration yet, this garland might be perfect.

What you'll need:
  • a large piece of green paper (A1 = 59.4 x 84.1 cm)
  • old newspaper
  • twine
  • scissors
  • glue
  • pencil
  • triangle
  • adhesive tape
  • rubber

How it works

Cut out little flags of the green paper. My flags are 19 cm high and 14 cm wide.

Draw the letters on the newspaper paper. I used only (parts of) pages without pictures but only letters, but of course that's a question of personal taste. Make sure that all of your letters are about 13 cm high and about max. 10 cm wide. I always drew a rectangle in that size on the paper first and then drew the letter into it. A little tip: You don't need to draw the H, A, P and Y more than once. Cut out your first exemplars and use them as stencil for the other H, A, P and Y.

Cut out the letters and glue them on your flags. If there are pencil marks use a rubber to erase them.

Use a puncher to make holes in your flags. Now thread them on your twine and hang them up on your wall using adhesive tape.

Done! :)

Have a great day!

Yours,
Steffi
